As per Section 17 (d) every agreement for leases of immovable property from year to year, or for any term exceeding one year, or reserving a yearly rent needs to be registered. (Section 17 Documents of which registration is compulsory)
The Registration fee for the tenancy agreement in Maharashtra would depend on location of the property being let out.
- Urban Area- Rs.1000/-
- Rural Area- Rs.500/-
Furthermore, the registration fee for the leave and license agreement is the same for residential and commercial premises.
